The Plissonneau Company was born some 130 years ago… First established in the city of Saint Pierre from 1872 till about 1921, the company settles in the capital city of Fort de France in 1922 and already holds firm commercial relationships not only in Europe, but also with companies on the American continent and specially with the United States. From the early 70's, the Caribbean has become a more and more sought after cruising destination and has seen spectacular development in the area. The year 1991 confirmed Plissonneau as the leader among shipping agents in the French West Indies. Nowadays we are the agent of over 30 shipping lines, 20 of which are cruise lines. We acquired year after year the strength and resources to compete and succeed in this highly competitive sector and our personnel has learned the diverse skills and experience to help us become a main actor of the cruise industry business. Our company is now organized into 2 different sectors of activity, the first one being the shipping agency the second one covering the stevedoring activities. We offer various types of services to all categories of vessels, cruise ships, bulk carriers, breakbulk vessels and tankers. We provide shipping lines with estimates of port disbursement, enabling owners and operators to work out voyage costings with comprehensive estimates. We provide specific port informations to assist masters prior to vessel arrival with regards to port state control requirements and navigational restrictions. We also acquired a certain experience in dealing with smaller companies such as private yacht owners.
